Please ask the church folks to pray for my sister’s mother-in-law and husband.
Jean: Surgery was successful in removing softball size tumor – stage 2 cancer. They also removed 16 lymph nodes which appeared to be cancerous but the oncology report came back negative. So, as far as they can tell, they got it all! A week later, Jean is now at Four Corners Nursing home recovering from surgery and has started PT. We meet with her doctor and the social services worker on Thursday to see what to expect in the coming weeks/months. Jean celebrates her 89th birthday next month.
Art has been diagnosed with Parsonage-Turner Syndrome. He has partial paralysis in his right arm and has been somewhat incapacitated the last three weeks with severe damage to his nervous system. Doctor has prescribed Gabapentin, an anti-epileptic medication, to calm the nerves. Once the pain is under control they will begin PT and they anticipate full or partial recovery 2-5 years. Additional MRI’s will be done to rule out a lung or brain tumor..
